The science of Numerology is thousands of years old. Although many original manuscripts and writings have been lost, the basis of numerology revolves around the fact that all numbers and letters of the alphabet have a distinct vibration. The combination of our names and dates of birth give rise to certain vibrations in our lives. Below is a brief overview of how numerology can work in your life. There are many other factors which also need to be considered (e.g. the number of the house/unit in which you live), if you would like a full picture of exactly what is happening in your life. All numbers have both “positive” and “negative” influences. You will encounter more "negative" influences if you don't resolve your issues. Negative only means negative in the sense of being difficult and 'unfun'. In reality difficulties can be positive as they may cause you to start thinking about how to avoid future pain and suffering by growing and becoming more aware.

Life Number:

In order to find out your life number, add up the totals of the numbers underneath the letters of your full name as per the following chart:

eg: The life number based upon name of Tony John Smith is:

2+6+5+7+1+6+8+5+1+4+9+2+8=66,
then add 6+6=12,
then add 1+2=3. Tony’s life number is 3.

Ruling Number:

Tony was born on the 1st January, 1970, the ruling number based on his birthday is:

1+1+1+9+7+0=19,
then add 1+9=10,
then add 1+0=1. Zeros come into a special category, although strictly speaking they are not numbers. They often represent a place of limbo, the void, waiting - the person must learn patience. This corresponds to the Hang Man's card in Tarot. Tony’s ruling number is 1.

Always bring the number back to a single digital as numerology is based on the vibrations of the numbers 1 to 9.

Day Number:

In order to find Tony’s day number (which gives further depth advising of secondary characteristics, which are sometimes unconscious), add the numbers of the day and month of his birth, 1+1=2. Tony’s day number is 2.

Year Number:

In order to find the numerological influences for a particular year, add the day number to the year number, e.g. for 2005 Tony is going into a 9 year, a year of letting go of the past, 2+2+0+0+5=9.
